Help raise money, food for needy local animals

Parks-4-Pups is hosting a work party at 9 a.m. on Dec. 8 at Sherwood Dog Park to add mulch around the new walking steps. Volunteers should bring gloves, rakes and wheelbarrows. The park is at 290 Scott St., in Paso Robles. For more information, visit, www.park4pups.org.

Mission Animal Hospital in San Luis Obispo is holding a Food for Paws pet food drive-through Dec. 20. Pet food, treats and monetary donations will benefit clients of the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter/Prado Day Center, the Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo and Meals on Wheels. All donations can be dropped off at Mission Animal Hospital, next to Trader Joe's, at 3973 S. Higuera St., Suite 130. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information, call 781-8888.
