Terminate OHV

NipomoDecember 5, 2012

The SVRA (State Vehicular Recreation Area) is part of State Parks. It is a division promoting vehicle driving as a type of “recreation.”

I am ancient but I try to avoid driving as much as I can —- I walk and ride my bicycle a lot. I feel more citizens should be doing the same. When I was a youngster of 70, I lived without a car for two years.

Our tax dollars feed the OHV Division of State Parks. Our tax dollars pay the rangers who promote driving in the SVRA. Rangers should be leading nature walks.

The laws in a democracy are created (and changed) by its citizens. The time has come to terminate the OHV Division of State Parks.
