Mission Prep boys basketball team wins season opener

Connor Woolpert logged a double-double in Mission Prep’s first boys basketball game of the season, a 69-31 win Monday over Pioneer Valley.

Woolpert led the Royals with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the road victory.

Quinton Adlesh had 18 points, and Ian Stake had 10 for the Royals.

Pioneer Valley dropped to 1-5.

The Royals play Thursday at the Arroyo Grande Optimist Tournament.

Pioneer Valley 64, Mission Prep 45

The Royals lost on the road to the Panthers.

The Royals (1-4) were led by Connor Storlie who had 15 points. Carly Colvin had 10.

The Panthers’ Ali Rodriguez had 17 points to lead the team, which improved to 3-0 this season.
