Cuesta men's basketball team takes third at Grossmont Tournament

Published: December 2, 2012

Oscar Pedroso scored 25 points to help the Cuesta College men's basketball team rally for a 76-72 win over Imperial Valley College in the third-place game at the Grossmont Tournament on Sunday.

Cuesta (6-3) was trailing 39-34 at halftime after a cold-shooting first half, which saw the Cougars shoot
25 percent from the floor, coach Rusty Blair said.

But, Blair said, Cuesta shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to spark the comeback.

Plamen Hristov scored 13 points, and Vasil Bachev and Kenny Robinson added 10 points apiece for Cuesta.

Robinson also had a team-high eight assists.

Imperial Valley gets a quick chance at revenge as Cuesta will face them Wednesday to open the Modesto Tournament.
