Update: An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly shot and injured his estranged wife in Grover Beach on Saturday.

Police are still searching for 46-year-old William Roger Forgey, who most recently lived in Roseville. He is known to frequent the Central Coast, Los Angeles and Sacramento areas, according to news release from Grover Beach police.

Police declined to release the shooting victim’s identity since she was injured in a domestic violence incident. In a previous news release, police said Forgey shot his estranged wife about 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Mentone Avenue.

He then fired shots at a neighbor while running away from the scene. The neighbor was not hit nor injured.

Forgey’s estranged wife was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where she was treated for multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, police said. She is expected to recover.

Forgey, who should be considered armed and dangerous, was last known to be driving a silver 2004 Toyota 4 Runner with California license plate 5DVW739. He also has a distinctive birthmark on the left side of his face and neck.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Forgey’s location should call the Grover Beach Police Department at (805) 473-4511 or Crime Stoppers at 549-7867.
