UpdateTwo other holiday events planned for tonight -- the Paso Robles Light Parade and the Atascadero Holiday Walk Around the Lake -- will be held regardless of the weather, organizers said Friday.

Original: Saturday’s planned Morro Bay Lighted Boat parade has been postponed a week due to weather forecasts predicting stormy conditions.

The Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Harbor Patrol and other organizers made the decision after reviewing forecasts calling for rain and strong wind and sea swells.

Safety of the boaters and the parade viewers are our primary concern,” organizers said in a news release issued midday Friday, “and at this time with the forecast we feel it prudent to postpone in order to give people and businesses as much lead time as possible to accommodate the change.”

The event will be rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8, organizers said.
