David Ekboms letter (Nov. 26) is truly mystifying. After serving many years on the Air Pollution Control District Board, surely he would know what constitutes pollution. Yet he asserts that climate change and particulates have nothing to do with air pollution, and therefore are beyond the scope of the APCD, which he accuses of a frantic rampage against State Parks, specifically OHV funds.
Oceano Dunes, as perfect an example of multi-pollution as one can get, is certainly within the rightful venue of any agency tasked with ensuring clean air. State Parks, in operating an unsafe, polluting, nonpark of a park, are the ones, not the APCD in this case, who are failing the public and the planet.
