The Prado Day Center warming station, which serves the homeless, will open today, Saturday and Sunday because significant rainfall is expected, shelter officials announced.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the warming station from noon today to 8 a.m. Saturday; 4:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday; and from 4:30 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.

Prepared dinner meals, for up to 40 people, are needed those three days. Donations of plates, bowls, cups and utensils are also needed. Donations can be sent to 43 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo.

Those who have questions, or an interest in volunteering or donating, can email dtorres@capslo.org or call 541-6351, ext. 822.
