Street closures, detours planned during Christmas parade in Paso Robles

Police advise motorists to prepare for traffic congestion and detours in downtown Paso Robles on Saturday evening for the 51st annual Christmas Light Parade.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on Spring Street and then routes around Downtown City Park. Street closures will begin at 5:30 p.m.

There will also be no-parking signs posted in the area. Cars on the parade route will be towed, police say.

The following streets will be closed:

• Spring Street between 6th and 15th streets

• 9th through 14th streets between Spring and Pine streets

• 14th Street between Spring and Park streets

• Park Street between 8th and 14th streets

• Pine Street between 10th and 12th streets

The light parade marks the arrival of Santa Claus in downtown, according to the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association. Santa will be at his Holiday House in the Downtown City Park until Christmas Eve. His visiting hours are posted on
