A new low

Morro BayNovember 28, 2012

On Saturday (Nov. 17) The Tribune sank to a new low in yellow journalism with the front page article about Supervisor Gibson’s affair with his aide.

There is so much going on in the world that should be on the front page: the Middle East, Syria, Libya, the economy, the debt crisis. We don’t need articles like this on the front page, nor do we need any more “news” about Gen. Petraeus’ affair.

Yes, these men violated the trust we placed in them as our leaders, but the pain the news media put on the innocent families of these men is wrong at every level.

Reporting like this puts The Tribune on a par with the Enquirer.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
