Letter to the Editor

Decency and morality

Published: November 28, 2012

Your editorial (Nov. 21) on the “Gibson affair … ” makes a good point but leaves out a more important point.

The people who are elected are not those we would welcome into our homes to meet our sons or daughters. Why do we elect them to do the public business? They have shown they have no morals or respect for decency.

It is why the family structure in this country no longer exists. For Mr. Gibson to say he is sorry is an insult. If he had true sorrow he would have resigned and returned home, but no, he goes forward as if nothing of any importance has occurred.

He must think we are really stupid and have little concern with morality and the family institution. It is not Republican or Democrat, it is caring to maintain decency and morality for ourselves and our children and grandchildren.
