With an eye on future growth, IQMS, a Paso Robles-based software development company, is building a second facility at its corporate headquarters.

The company recently broke ground on a 30,000-square-foot building, investing nearly $5 million into the additional two-story structure. The building, designed by RRM Design Group of San Luis Obispo, doubles the company’s square footage. If weather cooperates, construction should be completed in 11 months.

“The groundbreaking of our new building could not have come soon enough,” Randy Flamm, president of IQMS, said in a prepared statement. “With nearly 100 employees at our center of operations, we are at capacity. Add to the equation all the recent employees and projected hires we plan to add to the IQMS team, and we are practically bursting at the seams.”

In September, IQMS hired 16 employees, and it expects to hire 120 more over the next two years.

Daniele Fresca, director of marketing for the company, said the hiring will be across all departments, including automation and technical support.

The company’s growth is due in part to its expansion into a variety of industries that depend on IQMS software, and that’s opening up more sales pipelines, said Fresca.

“We’re gaining traction in the manufacturing industry, in medical device and aerospace,” she said.

Founded in 1989, IQMS has offices in North America, Europe and Asia and serves manufacturers worldwide.
