UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: The bicyclist who crashed on Highway 1 on Monday morning in San Luis Obispo reportedly suffered minor injuries and wasn't admitted to the hospital, a CHP spokesman said Monday afternoon.

CHP Officer J.W. Townsen told The Tribune that he's still unclear what caused the cyclist to fall into the roadway because he hasn't spoken to the officer who responded to the crash.

However, Townsend said it appears no vehicles were involved. No other details were released.

Original story: A bicyclist involved in a reported solo-collision on Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo is being taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center this morning, according to the CHP’s incident log.

The agency received reports at 11:08 a.m. of someone lying on the highway next to a bicycle near Gilardi Road, the log says. Details on what happened or the extent of the victim’s injuries wasn’t immediately available.

The roadway is now open.
