Stoplight sought for Los Berros exit

Published: November 16, 2012

The southbound off-ramp of Highway 101 at Los Berros Road in Nipomo could have a traffic light by mid-2013, if approvals go through.

The San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works is asking the Board of Supervisors to give it permission to apply for grant money to add the safety feature. It would be part of a state-local partnership grant program.

“Motorists have experienced an increase in delays and access,” the DPW wrote the board. The current proposed grant would take care of only southbound connections.

The Board of Supervisors will consider the request at its Tuesday meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. at the County Government Center, 1055 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo.
