Man shot in the back at Santa Rosa Park on Thursday

San Luis Obispo police are seeking a man who shot a second man shortly after midnight Thursday at Santa Rosa Park.

Officers responded to a call of a man screaming at the park at 12:09 a.m., according to Capt. Chris Staley. The found a man who had been shot in the back and took him to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.

Staley said the victim told officers that half a dozen men attacked him. He knew them, he said, and he and officers are talking. “We’re trying to piece this thing together,” he told The Tribune.

Staley asked members of the public who have knowledge of the shooting to contact police at 781-7312 or Crime Stoppers at 549-7867.
