Help raise money for pets in upcoming fundraisers

Animal-related events in SLO County

Parks4Pups, a nonprofit organization, is hosting an online auction BowserWowzer 2012 through Nov. 14.The auction features donations from businesses in San Luis Obispo County. Proceeds benefit the construction fund for Sherwood Dog Park of Paso Robles. Auction items can be viewed at www.sherwooddogpark.com. For information, call 239-4437.

El Chorro Dog Park is hosting a benefit garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 915 Mesa St. in Morro Bay. Items include holiday decorations and gifts, household items, new HP and Canon printers, juicer, costume jewelry, red hat and more. All proceeds benefit the El Chorro Dog Park. A ‘Pugsgiving’ fundraiser for Central Coast Pug Rescue will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Pismo Beach Golf Course. The event includes music, wine, beer, harvest buffet, vendors, silent auction and more. Pugs and pug-friendly dogs are welcome. Pismo Beach Gold Course is at 25 W. Grand Ave., in Pismo Beach. The North County Humane Society will host Pours4Purrs from Nov. 16 to 18. On the event weekend many Central Coast tasting rooms will donate portions of their proceeds to NCHS. In order for participants to donate to the NCHS they will need to pick up a “Purrs-Port” from participating wineries or print one out at www.slonchs.org. During the event, wineries will stamp visitors “Purrs-Port” to verify that they visited the participating tasting rooms during the weekend. With three stamps, visitors may leave their “Purrs-Port” at the last winery visited to be eligible for a drawing of prizes. For more information, call 466-5403.

Cambria's Homeless Animal Rescue Team (H.A.R.T.) presents Holiday Paws from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 17. Photographer Megg McNamee will be taking pet and Santa photos; ceramic artist Carol Jean Attoe will be capturing pet’s paw prints in ceramic clay keepsakes called ‘Love Paws.’ Micro-chipping appointments are available. Dogs must be on leashes and small animals in carriers. H.A.R.T. is at 2638 Main St., in Cambria. For more information, call 924-7377.
