Morro Bay Police are investigating robberies of two businesses that they believe were carried out by the same man.
The first robbery occurred Oct. 23 at about 5:30 p.m. at Morro Bay Cigarettes at 640 Quintana Road. A white male between 18 and 25 years of age with a bandana covering his face entered the store and demanded money from the clerk with what appeared to be a handgun tucked into his waistband. He fled the business with an undetermined amount of cash.
The second robbery occurred at about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 2 at Cork and Bottle Liquor at 396 Atascadero Road. A suspect matching the same description, wearing a black bandana over his face and carrying what appeared to be handgun in his waistband, entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. He left with about $500 in cash.
Although the suspect has not injured anyone during the commission of these crimes, we consider him armed and dangerous and ask that business employees and citizens cooperate with the suspect if encountered and then call 911 as soon as you are safely able to do so, said Cmdr. Bryan Millard.
Anyone with information about the two crimes is asked to call Morro Bay Police at 772-6225.
