Cal Poly tennis teams finish up road tournaments

The Cal Poly women's doubles team of Ane McPike and Kathryn Webb lost in the finals of the Open Doubles consolation bracket at the Bulldog Classic on Sunday.

McPike and Webb lost 9-7 to Laurence Pelchat and Heather Davidson of Montana. Earlier in the day, McPike and Webb defeated Montana’s Precious Gbabamosi and Mackenzie Rozell 9-8 (7-3) in the semifinal.

Cal Poly’s Gabby Gatewood and Jen Cornea defeated Pacific’s Gergana Boncheva and Iveta Masarova 8-5 in the back-draw bracket.

Anna Klavins and Haley Kepler both lost in Flight B consolation singles play.

Also Sunday, the Cal Poly men’s doubles team of Naveen Beasley and Jurgen De Jager won the Orange final of the consolation bracket.

Beasley and De Jager earned the title in a walk over of Cal’s Andrew Scholnich and Wyatt Houghton.
Cal Poly’s Jordan Bridge lost to San Francisco’s Nils Skajaa 7-5, 6-3 in the Orange back-draw singles semifinal.
