The PAC 7 champion Arroyo Grande High girls volleyball team learned Saturday that it earned a bye in the first round of CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs.
The Eagles (21-5), ranked No. 5 in the division, automatically advance to the second round of playoffs and Thursday will play the winner of a first-round game between La Cañada and
Paramount.
San Luis Obispo (22-7), which finished in second in the PAC 7, will host El Segundo on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Atascadero (16-8) travels to Santiago, the eighth-ranked team in the division, for a first-round game Tuesday.
Two Los Padres League teams will host first-round playoff games Tuesday.
LPL champion Templeton (14-3), ranked No. 5 in Division 3A, hosts Ramona at 7 p.m., and LPL runner-up Nipomo (17-8), ranked No. 9, hosts El Monte at 7 p.m.
In Division 5AA, Coastal Christian (15-1) won the Coast Valley League and is ranked No. 3.
The Crusaders have a first-round bye and will play the winner of Vasquez and AGBU (Canoga Park) on Thursday.
Coast Union (12-6) is ranked No. 9 after a second-place finish in the CVL and will host Hamilton on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
