Third quarter
Thomas Orradre started the second half at quarterback to replace Garrett Giovanelli for the Tigers, who left the stadium at halftime with an injury to his right MCL.
Orradre led San Luis Obispo in a long drive finished by an 8-yard touchdown run by Greenelsh to tie the Eagles 21-21.
Halftime
The Eagles came back in the second quarter with a 60-yard touchdown pass from Matt Willkomm to Grant Alton and later a 10-yard run from Elijah Holt to tie the Tigers at 14.
With San Luis Obispo quarterback Garrett Giovanelli on the sideline with a right knee injury, Arroyo Grande’s defense recovered a San Luis Obispo fumble, setting up the third-straight touchdown on a 2-yard run from Michael Jordano to make it 21-14 Eagles.
The Eagles regained possession on a San Luis Obispo turnover, but Wilkomm threw an interception and was injured soon after, leaving the starting quarterbacks from both teams on the sidelines at halftime.
First Quarter
San Luis Obispo High's football team started strong tonight with Garrett Giovanelli’s 89-yard kickoff return followed by Nate Greenelsh’s 4-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0 San Luis Obispo after two plays.
The Tigers defense held the Eagles to a three-and-lout and regained possession for San Luis Obispo, but Arroyo Grande blocked a field-goal attempt.
Parker Lauritzen caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Giovanelli to make it 14-0 Tigers at the end of the first quarter.
Paso Robles at Atascadero
Third quarter
Atascadero leads 14-10 after three quarters.
HALFTIME
Quarterback Garrett Nelson led the Bearcats with 68 passing yards and one touchdown before he was injured, but relief quarterback Gunnar Griffin completed 4 of 6 passes for 34 yards in Nelson’s absence.
Colton Madrigal had 10 carries for 37 yards for Paso Robles. The Paso Robles defense held Greyhounds quarterback Robbie Berwick to 2 of 5 passing and 19 yards passing with one interception.
Jonathan Torres had nine carries for 65 yards and a touchdown for Atascadero, making the score 10-7 Paso Robles at halftime.
Bishop Diego at Mission Prep
Halftime
Bishop Diego started the second quarter with a 7-yard touchdown run by Justin Brosnan, but Mission Prep’s offense couldn’t find a way to answer back after they regained possession.
The Cardinals kicked a 24-yard field goal soon after to make the score 10-6 Bishop Diego at the half.
First quarter
Tyler Baty led the Royals in a productive first quarter, breaking three tackles and running for a first down to set up a touchdown pass to Joey Hall to make the score 6-0 Mission Prep.
The Royals lost 30 yards in penalties, but Baty had 39 passing yards and Michael Cardwell had 25 rushing yards to give Mission Prep the 6-0 edge at the end of the first quarter.
