Women of all political parties are expressing that their major concern in this election is the economy. When pondering this question, please consider that the reason women have made gains in their ability to contribute economically to their families is because, some 40 years ago, women won the right to dictate their own reproductive choices.
Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, please realize that if women lose the right to have insurance coverage for birth control, the right to have cancer screenings, and the right to choose for themselves whether they are capable of bringing another child into the world, their ability to pursue an education, hold a job or pursue a career will be in serious jeopardy.
In a similar vein, whatever your religious beliefs, please remember that our country was founded on separation of church and state, in order to allow all of us to experience the reality of a free democracy.
Please, seriously consider these issues when you cast your vote Nov. 6.
