Gratitude for help

Published: November 1, 2012

“Sip It For S.A.V.E.” was a great success! Held at Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards on Oct. 7, our fundraiser to benefit Sexual Assault Victim Education Inc. (S.A.V.E.) raised $2,110 to advance our work to prevent the sexual abuse of young children in our county.

S.A.V.E. provides the Talking About Touching personal safety curriculum, free of charge, to any interested preschool in the county, thereby educating our county’s youngest children and their families about how to keep themselves safe from many dangers, including sexual abuse.

Several guests commented that it felt more like a backyard gathering than a fundraiser. The Kelsey family made everyone feel as though they were guests invited for a special party in their backyard. The Board of Directors is thankful to the Kelseys for their generous donation of the beautiful venue, 15 percent of the day’s wine sales, and help with more details than we can count.

Many local businesses generously donated items for our silent auction. A nonprofit’s fundraising work is never done, but right now we are enjoying the feeling of a job well done and gratitude for this amazing community that we live in.
