Volunteers needed

There is a need for volunteers for the Holiday Lights Parade in San Miguel, which will be held Dec. 15. This is a great way to visit with your neighbors, do Christmas shopping and have a lot of fun. Call Mike Saunders at 712-9120 or Miki Landseadel-Saunders at 975-6996 or stop by the San Miguel Mercantile to find out how you may help. Entry forms are available on Discover San Miguel and at the Mercantile.

Proud great-grandma

I spent a couple of weeks in Virginia, where I met our first great-grandchild, Andrew Thomas Cowan, who celebrated his first birthday Oct. 24. His proud parents are Bryan and Alice Cowan and his even prouder (if possible) and doting grandparents are Bryan and Andrea Schmitz Cowan, who reside in Fairfax, Va. Little Andrew thoroughly enjoyed his party and everyone who came to the celebration.
