Arroyo Grande resident Douglas Navolt, 51, is in critical condition after being hit by a car Monday afternoon.

Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Valley Road and Sunrise Terrace around 3:30 p.m. Monday after the driver, Elizabeth Thielker, 85, hit Navolt, Arroyo Grande police said.

Navolt was riding a motorcycle when he was struck. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo for treatment.

Thielker was found to be at fault for the accident, according to police, after failing to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left-hand turn at the intersection.
