We just received an expensive flier opposed to food labeling: Proposition 37. It shows a woman reading the ingredients on a package of food. Nice. She doesnt look confused. This is exactly what Proposition 37 hopes to accomplish.
This flier also shows a table of Proposition 37 exemptions. Huh? This is about clearly labeling food. The proposition will alleviate confusion, the only exception being the confusing fliers.
It does not restrict, prohibit, outlaw or opinionate on any food. Nothing changes except the ingredients cover-up. Thats right: cover-up.
What will happen is that the market will decide. Whats wrong with that? If there is nothing to hide, whats the problem? This is not about exemptions, grocery bills, lawyers, complicated requirements, etc. Its about disclosing all the ingredients in our food. Period.
The $36 million anti-Proposition 37 spent by Monsanto and DuPont etc., makes me very curious about those ingredients. Thats a lot of hush money. Hush money. Its really this simple: Can stuff be hidden in our food or not? You can still buy it and eat it either way, if you want to. You choose. Vote yes on Proposition 37 a vote for honest food.
