Union voices are valid

Published: October 28, 2012

The income inequality between the wealthiest and the poorest among us has never been greater. This is by no means an accident, but the result of the numerous “stratified” policies that have been enacted in the previous decade.

If the goal is a fairer country, or a society where just an opportunity to succeed is paramount, then we should at least recognize the role that unions play in our lives and why Proposition 32 will be another policy that divides us!

While promising political reform, it was intentionally written to create special exemptions for billionaires, super PACs and corporate special interests.

We in the unions should not be unfairly singled out because our voices are as important to us as the voices of the billionaires are to them!
