Morro Bay High's football team shut out Santa Maria 42-0 on Friday night.

The Pirates (6-3, 4-1 LPL) ran for 297 yards and six touchdowns to shut out the Saints (1-8, 0-6) at home.

Derek Viles had 101 yards on five carries, Jordan Bray had 92 on six carries and Tristan Collins had 60 yards on 10 carries for the Pirates. They each had two rushing touchdowns.

“Coach Walter Unks did a great job getting the offensive line together after the first quarter and making adjustments,” Morro Bay coach Jack Greer said, “making it possible to do what we do best — run the ball.”
