HumanKind Fair Trade, a nonprofit, fair trade store in downtown San Luis Obispo, will celebrate the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
HumanKind, at 982 Monterey St., will have an altar for the public to place mementos, flowers, or written memories to honor the deceased. The event will include traditional papel picado (cut paper) making.
In Mexico, Day of the Dead is a national holiday that occurs on Nov. 1 and 2, when families gather to honor friends and family members who have died.
