About 200 cyclists, including veterans and their supporters, rode from San Simeon to Pismo Beach on Wednesday in the annual Ride 2 Recovery Golden State Challenge.
The ride began Sunday in San Francisco. Today’s stage will go from Pismo Beach to Solvang; Friday’s ride will head from Solvang to Ventura. The event will conclude Saturday with a ride from Ventura to Santa Monica.
Ride 2 Recovery, sponsored primarily by United Healthcare, is a rehabilitation program focused on helping U.S. military personnel who were injured during duty to recover by using cycling as a main activity.
