Mission Prep has picked up a forfeit football win over Rancho Christian, the team it was supposed to play Friday.
The Royals will improve to 9-0 because Temecula-based Rancho Christian canceled its season after five games.
Rancho Christian canceled its season because of low player numbers, an overly ambitious schedule against strong opponents, and injuries, according to the North County Times newspaper.
The Royals remain the top-ranked team in the Northeast Division and face Bishop Diego at home at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 2. Bishop Diego (8-0) is the second-ranked team in the Northwest Division.
