Paso Robles police are looking for a man believed to have sexually assaulted a woman and committed sexual battery on another.
A woman called police on Sunday to say she was a victim of sexual assault that occurred the day before, according to a news release from Paso Robles police. The woman said that at 6 p.m. Saturday a man followed her into her apartment on Cary Street as she returned from an errand. He sexually assaulted her and then left, the woman said. She sustained minor physical injuries and received medical help.
She described the attacker as a white man approximately 30 years old who was clean shaven. He had a tattoo of a spider on an inner arm and was wearing tan pants, a gray sweatshirt and a black baseball cap with white stripes.
That description is similar to that of a man who committed sexual battery on a woman walking in the area of Navajo Avenue and Crazy Horse Drive at 10:45 a.m. Friday, police said. In that incident, a man followed a woman, came up behind her and grabbed her buttocks, police said. When she turned and confronted him, he said it was an accident, and then left the area.
Anyone with information about either incident can call police at 237-6464. Those wanting to be anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP or submit a tip from the Crime Stoppers website at www.slotips.org.
