Today is the last day to register if you want to vote on the bevy of candidates and propositions on the Nov. 6 ballot.
Voter registrations must be postmarked or submitted online today at http://registertovote.ca.gov/. Registrations may also be dropped off by 5 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorders office, 1055 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo.
Those who have moved or wish to change their political party must complete a new voter registration card.
Voters who register on time will receive a postcard with the location of their polling place. They will not receive the sample ballot booklet issued by the county or the state voter guide, but both publications are available at http://www.slovote.com and http://www.sos.ca.gov.
Paper registration forms are available throughout San Luis Obispo County at post offices, city halls, libraries, banks, notary offices, utility companies, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.
To be eligible to register to vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.
Anyone with questions can call the clerk-recorders office at 781-5228.
