Come along for the ride

Pismo BeachOctober 22, 2012

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, 200 cyclists, many of them injured veterans, will ride through the Central Coast. Come show your support as they make their way through the Cal Poly campus between 12:15 and 1 p.m.; in the SLO downtown area in front of the courthouse around 1:50 p.m.; or finally at Shell Beach Elementary School with their enthusiastic students at 2:30 p.m.

This year the Oceano Elementary School Bike Posse will ride with the veterans on Thursday, Oct. 25, as they pass through downtown Oceano. If you miss Wednesday’s event, come join 400 other patriotic Oceano students Thursday in Oceano at 9:45 a.m. to help show your support.

Finally, there will be a dinner provided by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Pismo Beach.

Enthusiastic supporters this year are the New Belgium Brewing Company, McClintocks and Branch Street Deli. If you would like to buy a dinner as a show of gratitude for a service person, please send a $10 check to Ride 2 Recovery, P.O. Box 764, Pismo Beach 93448. Include a short note that will be given to the soldiers. Checks are made payable to “Ride 2 Recovery.”
