Anyone wanting a moderate, bipartisan representative to the U.S. Congress should read the Tribunes Oct. 14 endorsement of Lois Capps. In appraising Abel Maldonado, The Tribune accurately points out numerous examples of Maldonados attempts to balance legitimate competing interests.
Unfortunately, The Tribune interprets this as seeing things in black-and-white, and instead prefers Representative Capps 97 percent straight party-line voting record for the last three Congresses as the better approach to moderate and bipartisan representation of all the interests of California.
