Political shell games

The other day (Oct. 18) California “ignored the agreed-upon uses” of money obtained in their share of the National Mortgage Settlement. I will not repeat all that the article went into, suffice it to say this money was to help stabilize individuals and communities with the fallout from the real estate bubble.

Now, once again, California citizens are assured money raised for one specific purpose or another (Proposition 30, for example) will not be used as the executive and legislative branches direct. It appears our representatives will tell us whatever they think we need to hear to get the resources they think they need to do what they choose.
