Prep Roundup: Arroyo Grande boys win division team race at Mt. SAC

The Arroyo Grande boys cross country team won its Division 1 race at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational on Saturday, placing five runners in the top 10 while setting a school-record team time of 1 hour, 20 minutes, 12 seconds.

Trevor Cowan paced the Eagles, winning the 3-mile race in 15:38. Blake Maule was third (15:57), Jonathan Corley placed fourth (16:00) and Jake Sorver was seventh (16:11) for 

Arroyo Grande, which finished with 36 points as a team. 

The Eagles girls placed seventh in Race 123 with 178 points. Jocelyn Reynolds was fifth (18:22), and Angela Gemignani was 10th (18:51) for Arroyo Grande.

Arroyo Grande boys water polo places ninth

In the second day of the El Segundo Tournament, the Arroyo Grande High boys water polo team beat Santa Monica 15-3 before defeating Chadwick 11-3 to place ninth.

Nick Chapman had five goals in each game for the Eagles (14-7).

Goalie Clint Doucette had five saves against Santa Monica, followed by nine against Chadwick.

Arroyo Grande won its final game Friday night 6-4 against La Habra. David Vitt scored two goals, and Chandler Mankins had five saves in goal for the Eagles.
