SECOND HALF

The Atascadero High football team trails St. Joseph 24-7 early in the fourth quarter in their PAC 7 matchup tonight.

Neither team scored in the third quarter, but the Greyhounds threatened late, driving to the Knights’ 5-yard line before turning the ball over on a fumble.

Entering the fourth quarter, St. Joseph had the ball in the Atascadero red zone, and converted a 26-yard field goal to take a 24-7 lead with 11:11 left in the game.

HALFTIME

Already leading 14-7 in the second quarter, the St. Joseph High football team connected on another touchdown pass to take a 21-7 lead into halftime in its PAC 7 game at Atascadero tonight.

Knights quarterback Curry Parham found Ryan Mediano for a 30-yard scoring pass with just over two minutes remaining in the opening half.

On the ensuing possession, Greyhounds quarterback Robbie Berwick was intercepted, but St. Joseph missed on a 43-yard field goal attempt with 17 seconds left in the second quarter.

Izaiah Cooks leads Atascadero with 81 yards rushing in the first half.

FIRST HALF

The Atascadero High football team trails PAC 7 leader St. Joseph 14-7 in the second quarter of their PAC 7 matchup tonight.

The Greyhounds fell behind early when Knights quarterback Curry Parham tossed a 40-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive of the game.

However, Atascadero ended the first quarter with the ball on the St. Joseph 7-yard line, and quarterback Robbie Berwick scored on a 4-yard touchdown run with 10:13 remaining in the second quarter to level the score at 7.

The Knights answered on the ensuing drive when Scotty Joseph rushed 50 yards for a touchdown with 9:28 left in the half.

PREGAME

The Atascadero High football team will try and do what no one else in the PAC 7 has done this season — beat St. Joseph tonight.

The Knights have already beaten San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande and Paso Robles to stamp themselves as the PAC 7 favorite. They head to Atascadero (3-4, 1-2 PAC 7) with a 4-0 PAC 7 record and are 6-1 overall. Gametime is 7 p.m.

Also in the PAC 7, Arroyo Grande (5-2, 2-1) plays at Righetti (2-6, 1-3), and Paso Robles (4-3, 1-2) hosts Pioneer Valley (2-5, 0-3). Both games are at 7 p.m. San Luis Obispo has a bye.

In the Los Padres League, Morro Bay (4-3, 2-1) hosts Cabrillo (4-4, 3-1), and Nipomo (0-7, 0-3) hosts Santa Maria (1-6, 0-4). Both games are at 7 p.m. Templeton has a bye.
