Rummage and bake sale this weekend at Mission San Miguel

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Old Mission San Miguel Busy Bees will hold a rummage and bake sale in the picnic grounds of Mission San Miguel.

Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon on both Thursday and Friday. All proceeds benefit parish facilities.

Advisory council to meet

The San Miguel Advisory Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Community Building in the park. They still have openings for two alternates. Information is on the Discover San Miguel website until their new website is ready.

Coffee station gets new name

The Filling Station is the new name of Coffee Station 3 on Mission Street next to the Post Office. New proprietor Raylene Davison is welcoming customers old and new, serving Jobella coffees and delicious edibles.

Halloween activities coming up

On Saturday, Oct. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. the Friends of the Adobes will host the annual candlelight tour of the Adobe with ghost stories at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe. Luminarias will light the way from the parking lot.

Refreshments will be served. Donations are welcomed for continued maintenance and repair of the Adobes. For information, call Joyce Herman at 440-7173.

Wednesday, Oct. 31, Lillian Larsen School parents are hosting a Halloween harvest carnival at the school starting at 1 p.m. with a costume parade. From 2 to 4 p.m. a lunch plate featuring pulled pork “sandWITCHes” will be sold for $7 to benefit student activities.

Activity and game booths will be open during the afternoon. For information, call 467-3216.

Halloween evening, starting at 5 p.m., the Community Building in the park will be transformed into the Haunted Halls of San Miguel resounding with strange noises and screams. There will also be a spooky house for the little ones. To volunteer or for information, call Dannie Reeder at 769-0072.
