Election forums planned at Cuesta College SLO and North County campuses this week

Election forums are planned for this week at the Cuesta College campuses in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.

The Associated Students of Cuesta College is hosting the forums, which will feature representatives from and discussions about local, state and national candidates and ballot initiatives.

The forum at the San Luis Obispo campus will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Associated Students Auditorium, Room 5401.

Scheduled to appear are representatives of the Lois Capps and Abel Maldonado campaigns in the 24th District congressional race; Gerald Manata and a member of Katcho Achadjian’s campaign for State Assembly 35th District; a representative for Democrat senate candidate Bill Monning; Cuesta College trustee candidates Barbara George and David Baldwin; and the candidates for the San Luis Obispo City Council.

The Paso Robles campus event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in Dallon’s Hall. Scheduled to attend that forum are Cuesta College trustee candidates George and Baldwin; Paso Robles City Council candidates Nick Gilman, Steve Martin and Fred Strong; and Atascadero City Council candidates Roberta Fonzi, Ann Ketcherside and Tom O’Malley.
