Paso Robles splits two games at boys water polo tournament

Paso Robles High’s boys water polo team went 1-1 on Friday at the Santa Maria Tournament, losing 7-6 to Clovis East and defeating Santa Maria 14-4.

The Bearcats lost a one-point lead in the fourth quarter in the loss to Clovis East.

Morgan Moore scored two goals for the Bearcats (10-10) in the loss to Clovis East and then moved to goalie and had three saves against Santa Maria. Kohl Coffey had four goals against Santa Maria, and Simon Schoennauer had three goals in the win over Santa Maria after scoring once against Clovis East. Ben Nagengast had one goal and eight saves against Clovis East.

Atascadero (2-14, 0-4 PAC 7) lost to Righetti 10-0 and to Clovis East 14-5.

Dylan Linnenkamp scored four goals against Clovis East. Matt Buckingham had 10 saves in both games for Atascadero.
