Prep Roundup: Templeton is still perfect in LPL volleyball

The Templeton High girls volleyball team swept visiting Morro Bay on Thursday night, winning 25-11, 25-19, 25-13 to remain undefeated in the Los Padres League.

The Eagles (11-1, 8-0 LPL) were led by Heather Fields, who had team-highs in kills, with 11, and aces with nine.

Autumn Russell had nine kills and seven aces, and Sydney Roth had 24 assists for Templeton.

Arroyo Grande 3, Righetti 1

Millisa Morrow led the Eagles (18-5, 8-0 PAC 7) with 22 kills, 10 digs and three aces as Arroyo Grande won 25-18, 13-25, 25-2, 25-18 at home.

Danielle Mullery had 10 kills and three blocks, Jade fuller had 27 digs and Alainna Hogeboom added 46 assists for the Eagles.

Paso Robles 3, Pioneer Valley 0

The Bearcats (9-10, 3-5 PAC 7) swept the Panthers 25-12, 25-19, 25-13 at home.

Molly Donovan led Paso Robles with 11 kills and six digs. Maddi Chase had 10 kills, and Morgan Lawson added nine for the Bearcats.

San Luis Obispo 3, Atascadero 1

Ariel Becker had 10 kills to lead the Tigers (18-7, 6-2 PAC 7) in their 25-13, 21-25, 25-22, 25-11 victory over the Greyhounds (13-6, 4-3 PAC 7) at home. 

Maggie Eppright had 33 assists, and Erin Good had 20 digs for San Luis Obispo.

Sophia Guerrier had 13 kills, and Mary Kate Evans had seven kills for Atascadero.

Coastal Christian 3, Valley Christian 0

Leslie Henry had nine kills and four blocks, and Bethany Young had nine aces and four blocks to lead the Conquerors (12-0, 8-0 Coast Valley League) to a 25-10, 25-9, 25-6 sweep at Valley Christian.

Koral Wright had 21 digs, and JoAnn Lindstaedt had 18 assists for Coastal Christian.

Coast Union 3, North County Christian 0

Ami Avina had seven kills and six aces as the Broncos (8-5, 7-1 CVL) swept the Crusaders 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 on the road.

Karla Soto had six kills, and Roxy Mercens, Itzel Saavadra and Doris Steen had five kills apiece for 

Coast Union. Sage Radecki added 28 assists for the Broncos.

Aliyah Morrison had seven kills, two blocks and 10 digs for North County Christian (1-18, 1-7 CVL).

Maricopa 3, Shandon 0

The Outlaws fell in a 25-16, 25-7, 25-12 sweep at the hands of the Indians.

GIRLS GOLF

PAC 7 Tournament

St. Joseph’s Desiree Gillaspy shot a 5-over 36 on the front nine at Paso Robles Golf Club to medal for the Knights, who finished fifth in the team standings at 283.

Arroyo Grande won with a team score of 244. Breana Garcia shot a 46, Anna Zhang shot a 47 and Megan Donegan shot a 49 for the Eagles.

San Luis Obispo was second at 250. Neha Sikand and Sam Tsau each shot a 46, and Nora Zakaria and Sam Lopez each shot a 50 for the Tigers.

Paso Robles was third at 263, led by Violet Lopez, who shot a 48.

Miranda Roetker shot a 49 to lead Atascadero, which had an incomplete team.

Los Padres League Tournament

Morro Bay’s Jennifer Baltimore shot a 4-over 36 on the front nine at Monarch Dunes Golf Course to medal for the Pirates, who finished second as a team with 252 strokes.

Cabrillo placed first at 246, Santa Ynez was third at 267 and Nipomo was fourth at 268.

Lily Keogh shot a 46, and Michelle Cordova shot a 48 for Morro Bay.

Christine Delaby had the low score for the Titans at 49.

RAINED OUT

The following girls tennis matches were postponed because of rain: San Luis Obispo at Paso Robles, Atascadero at Arroyo Grande (rescheduled for Monday at 3 p.m.), Santa Maria at Nipomo (Monday at 3:30 p.m.) and Mission Prep at Coast Union (Monday at 3:30 p.m).

The PAC 7 midseason cross country meet at Cuesta College was postponed because of rain. It has been rescheduled to Monday, with the varsity girls race beginning at 5 p.m. and the boys varsity race starting at 5:30.
