North County man wanted after failing to register as a sex offender

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team is searching for a man who failed to register as a sex offender.

Matthew James Booker, 37, who previously lived in Templeton, failed to appear in court. He drives a 1999 white Ford truck with an Arbor Tree logo on the side, license plate 6R67158.

The Sheriff's Office said that Booker has been known to visit the Paso Robles and San Miguel areas. Booker was convicted of a lewd act against a child under the age of 14.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for information leading to Booker's arrest; to report a tip, call 549-7867.
