— The Piedras Blancas Light Station benefits from two “dress” affairs this month: A double-feature “Monster Bash” on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Cambria, and a twilight tour complete with historical reenactments at Piedras Blancas on Oct. 27.

The second annual “Monster Bash” features the showing of two movies: “The Monster of Piedras Blancas” and “The Redemption of the Monster of Piedras Blancas.”

There will also be a costume contest; attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite ghost or goblin.

Festivities start at 6 p.m.; movies start at 7. There will be raffle prizes and snacks. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The “Monster Bash” is at the Veterans Memorial Building, Cambria, 1000 Main St.

For the twilight tour, guides in period attire will perform historic enactments. Weather permitting, the tours will offer oceanfront viewing of the sunset.

The two-hour tours start at 5:15, 5:30, 5:45 and 6 p.m. Adults pay $15. It costs $5 for ages 6 to 17, and children 5 and younger take the tour for free when accompanied by an adult.
