Prep Football Roundup: Nipomo loses, Coast Union wins

Cabrillo High downed Nipomo 27-21 on Friday night in a Los Padres League football game at Lompoc.

The Titans (0-7, 0-3 Los Padres League) nearly erased a 27-0 halftime deficit, scoring three second-half touchdowns in the loss to the Conquistadors (4-3, 3-0).

Quarterback Luke Shurtleff completed 15 of 29 passes with three first-half interceptions, and running back Tommy Saenz had 24 carries for 152 yards and five receptions for 27 yards for Nipomo. 

Ian Wilkinson had three catches for 13 yards and a touchdown, and Quintin Bland had six catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns for the Titans. 

Coast Union 36, Bloomington Christian 24

The Broncos came back from a 16-8 deficit in the first quarter to defeat the Ravens on the road.

Coast Union (6-0) finished with 365 yards of total offense to overcome117 penalty yards against the Broncos.

Nolan Baldwin rushed 18 times for 104 yards, and Alex Bautista added 63 yards on 11 carries for Coast Union.

Emany Godinez had 122 receiving yards for the Broncos.
