Paso Robles, Nipomo among other winners in girls volleyball

The Atascadero High girls volleyball team defeated Pioneer Valley 25-18, 25-6, 25-13 at home Thursday.

Mary Kate Evans led the Greyhounds with 10 kills. Sophia Guerrier had nine kills, and Chandler Haskell added six for Atascadero (13-5, 4-2 PAC 7).

Paso Robles 3, St. Joseph 0

The Bearcats defeated the Knights 25-22, 25-19, 25-11 at home in a PAC 7 match. 

Molly Donovan led Paso Robles with 17 kills. Morgan Lawson added five kills, and and Justyne Hendley had 21 assists for the Bearcats.

Nipomo 3, Cabrillo 2

The Titans (12-1, 5-1 Los Padres League) edged the Conquistadors 25-17, 19-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-6 to win at home. 

Cristina Ozzimo led Nipomo with nine kills and 46 assists. Kiana Worth had six aces and 14 kills, and Taylor Nebitt had five aces and 22 kills for the Titans. Sami Baker had two aces, eight kills and two blocks, and Sarah Stahl added two aces and 35 digs for Nipomo.

Coastal Christian 3, Coast Union 0

The Conquerors (8-0, 6-0 Coast Valley League) won 25-11, 25-16, 25-19 at home.

Leslie Henry had 17 kills and 18 digs for Coastal Christian. JoAnn Lindstaedt had 28 assists and three aces, and Isabelle Unger added 21 digs for the Conquerors.

Roxy Mertens led the Broncos (6-5, 5-1) with seven kills. Karla Soto added six kills, and Cristina Plascencia had two aces and 14 digs for Coast Union.

North County Christian 3, Shandon 1

The Crusaders defeated the Outlaws 14-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 to earn their first victory of the year.

Aliyah Morrison had 13 kills and 15 digs for North County Christian (1-16, 1-6 CVL).

Hannah Flaten had six aces and Kelsey McRoy had 22 assists for the Crusaders.

GIRLS TENNIS

Arroyo Grande 16, Righetti 2

Lauren Hayashi, Sophie Whittle and Alex Mero all played two sets and won 6-0, 6-0 as the Eagles (10-1, 8-0 PAC 7) rolled over the Warriors.

The doubles team of Amber Domako and Zoe Miller won 6-4, 6-1 to improve to 14-0 in league play.

Paso Robles 16, Pioneer Valley 2

All three singles players swept for the Bearcats (8-3, 5-3 PAC 7) in the win over the Saints.

Maria Petiy won 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 to improve her season record to 31-2. Lindsey Horst and Riley Caruana also won their singles sets for Paso Robles.

The Bearcats doubles team of Laura Callahan and Riley Austin won 6-2, 6-3, 6-0.

San Luis Obispo 12, Atascadero 6

The Tigers (7-6, 6-2 PAC 7) swept all nine doubles sets against the Greyhounds.

Lauren Hutkin and Joelle Lewis won 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, Darla Berkefeld and Courtney Gallagher won 6-4, 6-3, 6-1, and Caroline Burke and Anna Lippold won 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, 6-4.

Morro Bay 13, Nipomo 5

Sierra Wilcox swept 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 for the Pirates (4-7, 3-5 LPL) in their win over the Titans (1-7, 1-9) at home.

The doubles team of Claire Vogel and Skye Schwellenbach also swept for Morro Bay.

Kelly Springford won 6-2, 6-3, 2-6 for Nipomo, and the doubles team of Kelly Barrett and Mady Slaven won 6-3, 6-0, 3-6.

GIRLS GOLF

PAC 7 Tournament

Arroyo Grande won the tournament with an overall 18-hole score of 454. 

St. Joseph’s Desirae Gillaspy was the medalist for both nine-hole rounds, shooting a 2-over 36 on Oaks and a 1-over 37 on Canyons for a total of 73 at Blacklake Golf Course.

Anna Zhang led the Eagles with a 83, followed by Greana Garcia with a 94, Megan Donegan with a 90, Callie Norton with a 91 and Tessa Oates with a 98. The Eagles had the lowest score on the Oaks course with a 220 and the second-lowest on the Canyon course with 234.

San Luis Obispo was second with a team scored 464. The Tigers had the second-lowest score on Oaks with a 231 and the lowest on Canyon with 233.

Nora Zakaria had the third-lowest individual score with an 85, and teammate Neha Sikand was fourth with an 88 for the Tigers. 

Paso Robles finished in fifth overall, shooting 519. Carly McCall led the Bearcats with a 97, followed by Michaela Howard with a 99.

Atascadero had an incomplete team. Miranda Roetker was the low Greyhound with a 108, and Heather Wulff shot a 109.

Los Padres League Tournament

Nipomo edged Cabrillo 260-261 to win the LPL Tournament on the back nine at  Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Morro Bay was third with 264, followed by Santa Ynez with 282, Santa Maria with 291 and Lompoc with 314.

Morro Bay’s Jennifer Baltimore was the medalist, shooting a 9-over 45. Morro Bay’s Michelle Cordova was tied for second with a 46, and Lily Keogh shot a 48 to finish in a tie for fourth.

Courtney Cuzick and Ashley Gonzalez led the Titans, finishing in a tie for sixth at 49.
