A coalition of educational, nonprofit, and government agencies will present the eighth annual San Luis Obispo County Suicide Prevention Forums from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Unity Church, 1490 Southwood Drive, San Luis Obispo.

The forums will also be held Oct. 10 in Atascadero from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Atascadero High School gym, 6501 Lewis Ave., Atascadero.

The program, called “Stories of Stress, Suicide and Survival,” is a three-act dramatic presentation based on stressors that can lead to suicidal acts.

First person stories of individuals, parents and siblings touched by a suicide will be shared, and the process of intervention and supports for survivors and families of those who complete a suicide will be portrayed.

James Statler, executive director of the Community Counseling Center of San Luis Obispo County will moderate the forums.
