Forward Mackenzie Pridham netted two goals as the visiting Cal Poly mens soccer team held on to beat Cal State Fullerton 2-0 in the Big West Conference opener for both teams Friday night.
Cal Poly has won eight of their past nine games against Cal State Fullerton.
In the 26th minute, midfielder Chris Gaschen crossed the ball through the Titans goalkeepers hands, and Pridham put it in the wide open net on the right.
The Mustangs (6-3) outshot the Titans 6-0 in the first half and 15-9 for the game. Cal State Fullerton (4-7) managed one shot on goal the entire game. Mustangs goalkeeper Chase Hauser has allowed just one goal in 341 minutes of action this season.
In the 75th minute, Cal Poly midfielder Mike Hocker passed a long ball through and Pridham ran it down and powered the ball in from about 20 yards out to clinch the win.

Cal Poly 4, Pacific 1
The Mustangs (4-5-1) defeated the Tigers in the Big West opener for both teams.
Cal Polys Elise Krieghoff scored two goals, both assisted by Cici Kobinski, and Sara Epps scored twice, assisted by Andrea Zimkowski and Haley Walker.
Kortney Agdeppa scored Pacifics only goal. Cal Poly goalie Alyssa Giannetti had three saves.
MENS WATER POLO
Cuesta at Saratoga Tournament
Cuesta (10-5) came out strong in the first day of the tournament, winning two out of three games.
The Cougars dominated De Anza 16-1, and beat the Olympic Club team 6-3. Cuesta lost to second-ranked West Valley 9-6.
Cougars freshman goalie Brady Moore played exceptionally well, Cuesta coach John Marsh said, who also praised the play of Lucas Lastra and Junior Baldez.

Cuesta Rabobank Tournament
Cuesta had a difficult start to its own two-day tournament.
The Cougars lost to Golden West 21-4. Cuesta was missing two starters in the game and lost two more to ejections. Haylie Fry, Kortney Yoder, Temma Curry and Michaela Billingsley had Cuestas goals.
Erin Casey had three goals for Cuesta in a 17-8 loss to Foothill, and Bailey Kelley and Fry added two goals apiece.
