The county Sheriffs Office today arrested Brandon Noble Henslee, 22, of Cambria, charging him with the murder of his 20-year-old half brother, Tyler Daniel Hanks.
The charge doesnt include whether the murder is considered to be first or second degree, or any number of other qualifiers. That decision would come from the district attorneys office, according to Tony Cipolla, sheriffs office spokesman.
Henslee has been held in jail on a parole violation since Aug. 26, when investigators found Hanks body in a Fiscalini Ranch Preserve gully. Hanks had been reported missing by a family friend.
Henslee was one of several family members living in the house on Leighton Street at the time Hanks was killed.
It was apparently the first homicide in decades to happen within Cambrias boundaries.
Cipolla said Sheriff Ian Parkinson wants to reassure the citizens of Cambria that this was an isolated incident, as he has said from the outset. Henslee is a primary suspect in the crime, Cipolla said, but he wouldnt elaborate on whether other suspects might also be charged.
He also said that because this is an ongoing investigation, the department wont be releasing any additional details about the arrest or the case.
