Paso Robles resident Jerry Jones has filed as a write-in candidate for one of two seats available on the City Council this November.
A write-in candidate must collect 20 nomination signatures and fill out filing papers in order for their names to count when voters write them in on ballots. Those interested in being write-in candidates must file by Oct. 23. Jones filed for write-in status earlier this month.
Three seats are up on the council this year: the two-year mayoral position and two four-year council seats. Mayor Duane Picanco is unopposed. Incumbent Fred Strong and Nick Gilman will face Steve Martin and Jim Reed for the council seats.
