An adult male attempted to lure a lone female youth into his truck Tuesday, prompting the Paso Robles Police Department to investigate the incident.

That man is now being investigated by police, who are withholding his name pending further investigation.

According to police, the 13-year-old girl said she saw the man near a truck which appeared to be having mechanical problems around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of Oak Street. The man asked the girl for help starting the car while he worked on the engine.

Police say she told the man that her dad was nearby and kept walking but heard the car start as she walked away.

The man is described as a white male, in his late 50’s, about 5-feet four-inches tall with curly white hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue short-sleeved shirt and light colored blue jeans. The vehicle is described as a white or light colored full size extended cab truck. The police department is asking the public to contact them if they had a similar contact with him.
